Representing San Diego

How we help San Diego businesses and employees

San Diego's economy is unusually mixed — defense contractors and shipbuilders on the bay, biotech and life sciences in Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley, telecom and software along the 56 corridor, hospitality downtown, and agriculture inland. Each of those sectors carries a different employment risk profile, and the legal exposure that sinks a 40-person biotech is rarely the one that sinks a restaurant group.

We work with San Diego employers on the problems that actually generate claims here: misclassified exempt staff, commission plans that don't survive Labor Code scrutiny, meal and rest break records, contractor agreements with federal flow-down clauses, and separations handled without documentation. When those turn into litigation, the same team tries the case.

We also represent San Diego employees and executives on the other side of those disputes — severance review, wrongful termination, retaliation, and discrimination claims — where the firm is not already adverse.

San Diego FAQs

Questions we hear from San Diego

Where is your San Diego office?
16870 West Bernardo Drive, Suite 400, San Diego, CA 92127, in Rancho Bernardo just off I-15. We meet clients there and remotely throughout San Diego County.
Does the City of San Diego have its own employment rules?
Yes. The City of San Diego has a local minimum wage and an Earned Sick Leave ordinance that applies to employees who work two or more hours in a week within city limits — separate from California's statewide paid sick leave. Employers with staff crossing city lines often owe the more generous of the two.
Do you handle both employer-side and employee-side matters?
Yes. We counsel and defend San Diego employers, and we represent employees and executives in severance, wrongful termination, and retaliation matters where no conflict exists.
What does an initial consultation cost?
The initial consultation is free. Call (949) 993-0846 or use the contact form and we will tell you candidly whether you have a matter worth pursuing.
